Sugar's Sweet Blog Turns ONE Year Old - Celebrate with Cupcakes!

This little pink blog was created on 11 October 2009 and today marks its very first birthday *^______^*



Babies start to learn to walk around this age, but how old is this in blog years? I'm thinking 1 blog year is around the early teenage years when it has just completed primary school; it has learnt the basics, no longer needing its mother's protective arms and starting to rebel but unlike humans, a blog's liveliness and death is dependant on the author.

I started this blog under two influences.  One was being inspired by Chocolatesuze and Grabyourfork whom both are very nice, fun and admired food bloggers (at least I admire them).  I wished to start something similar myself as I do eat out very often and felt sad when other people couldn't see what cute/pretty/yummy things are out there in the world.

My second reason was to use it as a getaway from all the upsetting things I was going through during that period.  I needed a place where I can be away from real life and just kinda talk to myself and indulge in a new found hobby of mine. Ok, eating out was already a hobby but blogging about it was something new :P 

During the year, I went through a lot of ups and downs, highs and lows but I never stopped blogging.  My whole life and happiness was dependant on one person.  If he was happy then I was too, if he wasn't then I'm not.  It might sound pretty sad but I was really in love.  Sadly, things didn't end for the best but this little blog kept at least one tiny bit of my soul alive.  So, I thank you, Sugar's Sweet Blog and thank you, all of my readers, whoever you are.

I was very stupid for not putting on any makeup.  It was so rushed as I just got home from the airport waving goodbye to my dad who is going back to China again for a couple of months.  I could've at least put some eyeliner on to make my eyes bigger and debated for quite a long time whether I should post this pic or not but it was my blog's birthday after all; the owner should at least show its face so...I did.

I would've tried to take it again but I only had one candle and the cupcake was kinda being eaten...
