Food Bloggers Unite! We are food making, food snapping and food eating crazy creatures that could be spotted in the kitchen, restaurants and...Centennial Park. Organised by Billy (A Table For Two), Karen (Citrus and Candy) and Kitchenaide sponsored by Nuffnang, 40 something food bloggers got together for a 'Mad Hatter' picnic. It was indeed mad with many crazy hats on heads and even more delicious foods that was laid out over 5 picnic rugs.
Meeting up with Julie (I Dream in Chocolate)at Central Station, we bumped into Minh (Eat Show and Tell) and Jacq (Penguin Says Feed Me) who were equally lost as we are. Jacq informed us that she was told to get off the bus after spotting Max Brenner. Oh how much I loved this. It's so awesome that we use restaurant locations as landmarks<3
Shall I talk about the food or humans first?! Humm....
Let's start with neither. I introduce you to...
'Bashy' the Colourful Lama Pinata
I gave it the name. Isn't it so cute? Sad that it had a terrible fate of being hanged for a couple of hours, bashed to death then ripped apart by Billy :(
Tammi (Insatiable Munchies) with her awesome Lady Gaga inspired hat which also made her claim the title of 'Best Hat'
Oh my! Kinkiness in mid-day<3
Rita's bunny tail was a much loved possession for Susan (Chocolatesuze)...
Strokes Lovingly :3
Trisha (Sugarlace) and her pretty Cake Pops<3
I stole a lot of it off her and put it in my brownie tin to take home mwahaha :D
Me with the stolen goods :D
The Ninja and Richard
More sexy ninja goodness...in a skirt hoho
Chef Tammi and Chef Simon at work
Ohh! Did u spot my fail brownies on the right?
Julie's (I Dream in Chocolate) awesome Momofuku Pork Buns with sweet sweet crackling...won 'Best Savory'
Rosalind's (Rasa Rosa) Sticky Rice Kuih with Kaya Jam and Blue Pea Flower which was amazing!
Absolutely the prettiest cake EVER by Anna (Diary of a Ladybird) which no doubt won 'Best Dessert'
Do you see the laptop, macarons, cake, camera, watermelon, sandwich, hamburger and grape fondant? My heart shed a tear when this was cut open :( Inside it revealed a moist and gooey chocolate mudcake layered with chocolate ganache. Hands down for Best Dessert!
Leila's (Tablenosh) Lemon Blueberry Ricotta Cheesecake which I think was equally as good as Anna's cake!
Phuoc's (Phuoc'n Delicious) S'more Tarts with a secret puddle of chocolate ganache under the pretty marshmallows swirls
Paulina (Fat Belly Club) Shortbread Tartlets which won 'Runner-up for Best Dessert'
Someone please tell me who made these :(
Anita's (No Red Meat) Thai Fish Cakes which wowed everyone and won 'Best Dish'
Lend me the Kitcheaide please :3
Anita's Popping Caramel Slice
This crazy girl even made another dish! The caramel slice was soooo moist and yummy. You can even feel the poppings tingle on your tongue!
Sook's (Nommy Nom Nom) Cookie Monster Cupcakes which stained my teeth blue! hehe
I was like ohhhhhh!! I see bacon!!! while eating this and trying to yank it out with my teeth.
Ayana's (Oh Ayana) Earl Grey Chiffon Cake surrounded by Lemon, White Chocolate Macarons
Such an elegant cake! Shame I was wayyyy too full to try this but I heard it's really good! I ate a mini macaron which is the size of a nail. Too cute!
Pink Mini Macarons in my hand
Moya's (YaYa Yum Yums) Sm-earthed No Knead Bread Bruschetta with two different types of cheese which won her 'Most Outrageous Blue Dish'
Well deserved win! The bread was baked fresh in the morning and glowing in a vivid smurf blue!
Minh's (Eat Show and Tell) Broccoli and Cheese Muffins which got 'Runner-up for Best Savory'
Mrs Shank (YaYa Yum Yums) made 10 awesome hat themed cupcakes out of fondant.
She didn't forget the blue theme either! Truly a work of art
Cake by YaYa Yum Yums
Gianna's Lamb Pies
Gianna's Blue Sangria which tasted awesome!!
I found Julie and I going back for seconds...thirds...fourths...along with other people too! Julie certainly drank her body weight in punch.
Someone also tell me who made this!
My failed Chili Brownies which isn't chili at all :p
My mum lied! She said there was 'plenty' of chili powder at home then it turned out to be 5 packets of cumin powder. FAIL! So some freshly chopped chili juice will have to do...
Moya from YaYa Yum Yums aiming high!
Moya won 'Most Outrageous Blue Dish' but she was far from satisfied...Pointing to the Kitchenaide, she wanted to bring that home. Don't we all? But there could only be one lucky winner who gets to sleep with the sexy beast at night and it was...
Anita winning 'Best Dish' for her Thai Fish Cakes
Anita! God her reaction was so cute! Sad that I didn't manage to capture the moment but seeing her hugging it just made everyone smile.
The day has been just so fun! I got to meet even more food bloggers this time and although we've never met before, we got along so well and everyone was just so friendly :) More food bloggers for me to stalk now!!
Food Bloggers are just awesome people who doesn't mind eating desserts at 11pm or waiting for you take photos until the food goes cold.
PS: I tried to get a picture of everything...oh I really tried! I know there are some that I left out and I'm sorry :(
