So! I dragged the then newly acquired boy to Sheraton on the Park for a SIFF Sugar Hit at 9pm. There was one other table when we were there and I was slightly embarrassed by the 'too casual' attire that we were wearing that night. Oh well, we are here for dessert!

Brown Brothers Orange Muscat and Flora
The Sugar Hit came with a Brown Brothers Orange Muscat and Flora which was served quickly but the actual dessert came considerably later and I was getting sad because my drink was getting warm.

Tropical Tonka Bean Panna Cotta on Boysenberry and Finger Lime-Infused Compote Served with a Crispy Chocolate Almond Biscotti $20
Finally!! was the initial thought when the waitress brought out the dessert. The dessert was beautifully plated with two cakes, one upright and one on the side topped with three raspberries and chocolate almond biscotti. On the other side of the cake is a strip of bright red berry compote which matches the colour of the raspberries to make the plating pull together.
Taste wise, however, was a little disappointing as the panna cotta cake tasted a bit bland for me. It was definitely delicate and light in texture and flavour but a little too light making it quite tasteless. The almond biscotti was chewy...stale, instead of being crispy.

Instead of ordering two Sugar Hits, I've decided to order a different dessert. I think ordering the same dessert for many people is quite lame as you can share and taste all the different desserts on offer unless, you are not all that close to the person you are dining with.

Creme Brulee $13? <~ Sorry I can't remember :(
The dessert is presented with a creme brulee in a tart? topped with two biscottis. On the side is a scoop of pistachio icecream sprinkled with crushed pistachios and a raspberry on each end.
I can't say disappointing but the dessert wasn't all that great either. The tart was a little hard and the creme brulee was served cold. The biscotti was slightly more crispy than the other dessert but still not up to standard. The highlight was the pistachio icecream which was creamy and nutty in flavour.

Chocolate Centerpiece
This centerpiece is made entirely out of chocolate! The boy even asked if he could eat it! *embarrassing* but the waitress said that she doesn't think it's edible. Fail to the max.

was this the time when you passed by me when I was rubbing my food baby after a buffet at the same hotel, or was it someone else hmm :P
A shame for the quality of the sugar hit/individual dessert. I thought the dessert spread for their seafood buffet was one of the best for buffet places in Sydney.
Shame that your sugar hit was a bit of a let down. Don't worry about the delayed post, I just got one up regarding Josh's birthday back in June last year.
that creme brulee is missing the crack crack! Shame about the panna cotta!
Ah yes you can always tell the stage of a friendship by whether you have to ask first before you try some of their food. lol. Chewy biscotti and bland pannacotta sounds rather disappointing.
such beautiful presentation, but didn't live up to it! And lol, "the boy". The centrepiece doesn't even look like chocolate, wow
@Stephanie: yesh! thats exactly the day :p
