The Reuben with Fries $15.50

With a full stomach, I was energetic again and pretty much skipped all the way to the Art Gallery of NSW for an exhibition that I was dying to see.
Art Gallery of New South Wales - First Emperor Exhibition

Art Gallery of NSW

The First Emperor Exhibition showcases 120 rare artifacts and objects found in the tomb of the First Emperor in China; Qin ShiHuang. 10 terracotta warriors are also displayed which was the highlight of the exhibition.
No photography was allowed so I don't know how much trouble I'll be in if they found out that I posted this on my blog :(

The General
The terracotta warriors were arranged according to rank with The General in the front followed by Officials, Soldiers, Crossbowmen, Archers, Chariots, and two types of horses in battle formation.

Crossbowmen
Every terracotta warrior have their own unique look, facial expression, clothing, hairstyle and position which is pretty amazing because there are 8000 of them! When they were first discovered, they still retained their vibrant colours but soon lost it due to oxidisation. :( The Chinese government has stopped unearthing them unless we can find a way to prevent that from happening.
Sword with Decorative Gold Handle used for Worshiping

Chinese Cyan Bronzeware
Something for the blokes to see...
Battle Helmet
Battle Armour
The exhibition is truly amazing and there is activity sheets for the kids to take home. I personally took some back myself...*cough*. It was a paper armour set which I had difficulty squeeze in cause of my big head :P
***The First Emperor Exhibition finishes on 13 March 2011 so go fast!!

ohh so cool. Must get to the musuem before the exhibition ends! You're so sneaky with your photo taking, blog posting ;)
Tsk tsk naughty Betty! It's probably the closest I will get to a terracotta warrior though!
The sandwich looks so great, and thanks for the pics of the terracotta warriors! I've been meaning to see them but haven't got around to it.
"No photography was allowed so I don't know how much trouble I'll be in if they found out that I posted this on my blog :(" SO SHE POSTS IT ANYWAYS! lol, great pics, the sword looks like it's floating! The Wagyu beef sandwich looked great, excellent quality meat. Very tender I'm guessing? Btw...why does terracotta always make me think of cheese?
I was going to go see this! I'm always too scared taking photos if it's not allowed... :-)

Hi Sugarpuffi - I'm so glad that you posted this blog as I would've totally forgotten about the Terracotta Warriors otherwise (went on Saturday arvo). Somehow some sneaky photos also ended up on my camera, whoopsie. I want to go and have a Rueben Sambo...I'll take The Boy before my trip (without him) to NYC, to make up for the fact that he's being left at home.
You certainly weren't the only one taking pics - but they would have had a hard time policing that anyway given how packed it was at the exhibition (on weekends anyway).
@MelbaToast: im glad this post reminded u :D
@Tina: they caught me a couple of times though cause im holding up a big fat camera to my face but ah well~i got my pics. im content ^^
